Se puede volver, pero...
By ,

By ,

Hacienda Juanita
By ,

Horrible
By ,
It was the most horrific experiene we had have. I went with my wife and two and a half year old son. Fisrt, is very complicated te get there. Rooms are too small with no air conditioner. Rooms are hpts and very poor illuminated. Bed too small. Very far away from attractions. We were supposed to stay three days and two nights but we decided to leave the second day early morning. At last, I saw the biggest roach I've seen in my life.

The Marcano Report Hacienda Juanita
By ,
Ok here goes: Awesome: The coffee was!!! Good: Went there for my anniversary in June 06 & can say its a great place to get away from the world. Loved the rainforest feel. Rooms were very cool. As stated in a previous review, there were no screens, but honestly didn't feel any bugs. I slept with the shutters wide open... probably another reason why it was so cool. Food was interesting in a good way. So-so to bad: Although the room was clean, I feel they should have at least had a light & fan running, as if they were expecting you. The restaurant is incredibly understaffed & the lack of teamwork made it worse. Waitresses were even washing dishes & bartending. It'd be unfair to say all the waitresses were bad, though. We left the place without having coffee because our waitress didn't know how to make any, & the other waitress wouldn't make it for her... (WHAT?) Pool was Ok, needed minor repair. Game room had a pool table, ping pong table & a couple of dated machines. BAD: The owner was very arrogant & instead of greeting you & asking you how everything was, he'd turn away & avoid you. If I were to say that I wasn't going back there, this would probably be the main reason. Other stuff to do around: Not much. The hatchery in Maricao was neat, but that was it. Other somewhat similar places to stay up there in the boonies would be Hacienda Casa Taina (read our review) & Hacienda Gripias, which although we didn't stay there, has the poorest view of the 3. Closing: Hacienda Juanita is a great place to stay one night & keep on goin'.
